Insulated Shipping Containers

Designed to maintain a consistent internal temperature, insulated shipping containers minimise temperature fluctuations and condensation. Their heavy-duty insulation makes them ideal for shipping and storing temperature-sensitive goods.

As long as your goods don’t require any refrigeration, an insulated container will keep your items safe. So you can take pre-cooled goods from cold storage, store them temporarily and keep them fresh until they reach their destination. Available in a range of sizes — both new and used — you’ll be able to tackle any project, big or small, while maintaining a comfortable, steady temperature.

Insulated Shipping Containers FAQs

How do insulated containers work?

Insulated storage containers provide the same solution as standard shipping containers, but their insulated interior keeps internal temperatures consistent. No matter how hot or cold it is outside, they maintain a steady internal temperature. High-performance materials act as a barrier, stopping heat from getting in or out.

How is this container delivered?

Usually, our containers are delivered via a tilt tray off the back of a truck. As the truck moves forward slowly, the container is lowered mechanically on an angle and slid off. If this method is unsuitable due to overhead powerlines or poor ground conditions, alternative methods include side loaders and hiab cranes.

Why do insulated shipping containers make great offices?

Insulation is an essential addition if you are building a shipping container office. Of course, standard containers can be bought and then insulated but buying a purpose-built insulated container can be a more cost-effective and reliable option. You won’t have to wait long to set up your unique workspace and then you can use it all year long, with its temperature stabilising abilities keeping a consistent temperature all year round.

Can I store delicate items in an insulated container?

Delicate items such as books, documents, furniture and electrical items benefit from being stored at a consistent temperature. This is particularly important during harsh weather conditions. Steel gets very warm in the sun and cold at night. The insulation properties of insulated containers means they maintain a stable, internal temperature, preventing moisture build-up and condensation, which can cause damage to the container’s contents.

Do I need an insulated shipping container or a reefer?

When transporting items that require a precise and constant temperature, refrigerated containers are the best choice. They have an active cooling system and you can ensure the temperature is controlled. But if your goods only need protection from temperature fluctuations, and don’t require specific temperature control, an insulated container may work for your needs.
